What is more fun than girl's night out with Emme, the Supermodel?
I got to experience the ultimate girls night out in the Emme Showroom in Manhattan. There was a room full of awesome plus size petite women all sharing their opinions and suggestions with Emme herself. It was a petite plus size focus group and it was a blast!!!
Let me backup a moment...
I had the pleasure of meeting the Emme crew last July prior to launching UniquelyMe.com. There was an instant connection because I realized they were as passionate about catering to the plus size customer as I was. I must commend them on the lengths they are going to really learn about the plus size woman's wants and needs. This team of dynamic individuals has been traveling across the country since August working one on one with customers from New York to Mississippi. They have been gathering information first hand from women like you and me and taking action based on this feedback.
When I heard that they wanted to put together a petite plus size focus group I said,"Count me in!" I immediately printed out my plus size petite survey and started calling women to participate in this focus group. Yes, I am thrilled to say a number of participants were customers from UniquelyMe.com. You make a difference and I am listening to you and so are they.
Our evening began with a very yummy spread of chicken fajitas and a "make your own taco bar." There was a fabulous unique cross section of women from stay at home moms, to fitness trainers, to corporate executives. It was an awesome networking opportunity for all involved. We gathered in the showroom and sat in a circle to view the models that came in wearing different outfits. Everyone openly gave their comments. It was a very comfortable "girlfriend like" atmosphere. It didn't take too long before women were jumping up saying "Let me try that on", "Give me that dress", "Can I try on that blouse?". Amongst a lot of laughter, came honest comments about what the plus size petite woman really wants and needs. We narrowed into some specific items that the Emme Collection could provide for the customer. Of course, that is our little secret for now.
